Basic information about my car
2018 Toyota Hilux Revo 2.4G MT, 112K
Reasons why I bought this car
Using it for carrying light stuff and travelling around rural areas with the needs of 4x4 functions.
After MCO, now it is mostly for daily use and sometimes long journey road trip.
Car Selection Process
-
I had a budget of RM 150,000
-
Model(s) that I have considered include: Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Toyota Hilux
Faster delivery time at that time as the other brands were requiring longer waiting time. I'm in rush to use the vehicle so picked the Hilux.
User Experience
-
I have already done 35,000 km
Pretty tough. Zero issue so far. Regular servcing each 5000km which I think need to be lengthen to 10000km per service. Recently launched Hilux 2020 updated to 10000km per service is pretty good and hope that Toyota applies this to all the previous model as well. Brought my Hilux to most of the part of Sarawak, Sabah Kota Kinabalu as well as Kundasang, then now in Semenanjung conquering multiple cities as well.

Summary
With the cheaper purchasing price and lower maintenance fees, I can say that I am able to use the vehicle hassle-free and drive it as tough as it is designed to be. With a quieter cabin and slightly better ride comfort it is now also able to bring my family to go around doing road trips without worrying that they might have car sick. Of course it is still a pick up truck. So we cannot compare it to normal sedan vehicle.
